4 THINGS I AM CELEBRATING TODAY
HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY TO ME
I’ve decided to relaunch my blog right now, here, today on this joyous occasion in #AquariusSeason… MY BIRTHDAY!
In that vein, allow me to reintroduce myself!
My name is Charmaine (or Char).
In addition to my career as a finance leader, I am an enthusiast of all things lifestyle.
Here on my blog I share posts on a range of topics from fashion/beauty, fitness, and home.
I would love it if you joined me!
Now, today’s post is very special as this is my 40th trip around the sun! That said, I’d like to share 4 things that I am celebrating today.
I'VE COME SO FAR
As a teen mom I decided early that I would not allow my circumstances determine my future. I mean, I had become responsible for a whole person so I knew I had to do what needed to be done to set an example for him.
I will admit, I initially moved through my life with the goal of proving everyone who doubted me wrong. Then I started learning, growing, and experiencing life in a way I needed to see through.
So my goals changed, my life changed, I changed.
People CAN change!
HEALTH AND HEALING
Along with the positive changes in my life came changes in how I began to take care of myself. I started to watch the things that I ate, got more active, drank my water and mind my business okaaaay!
I also began therapy, as you could imagine I had an interesting upbringing so there was and IS still a lot of unpacking to do. But i can report that as of now, WOW what a difference regular therapy sessions can have on your mental health.
This of course caused some relationships to end and healing began.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Along my journey in adulthood, whether it be professional or personal, I have the hardest time celebrating myself and my accomplishments.
In my 40th year of life, I am committed to being more acknowledging of the things that are great successes. There is no need to wait for someone else to do it, that would be a plus.
Own your shit good or bad, celebrate each stage of your life!
HOPE
Finally, I will continue to do all of the things I mentioned earlier in this post with a confidence that there is still many great things, experiences and people to come. I believe I will continue to be successful in my career which in turn drives my financial freedom.
That is all well and good but I still dream of the day that my King makes his presence in my life evident and we run off into the sunset happily ever after. But until then I will live life on my terms, stay happy, and drink my water & mind my business!!
I hope you enjoyed this post, please join me every Monday to ki-ki about all things lifestyle!
I love you for being here!
