3 Classic Minimalist Ways to Style Jordan 1 Royal Toe
Hey Dolls and Gents!
If you’re anything like me you are passionate about style and fashion, however, I despise heels! I own several pairs of heels but if I can get away with it, I prefer flats or even sneakers no matter the outfit.
My sneaker collection has grown quite significantly over the past year or so due to the start of my fitness journey (stay tuned for the sneaker collection and fitness journey posts). While I have been shopping more for gym shoes, I discovered the Jordan 1 Retro High OG. I own a couple of other pairs of J’s, however, I am obsessed with the Jordan 1 silhouette.
Some people are very strict on the version of the Jordan 1 that they will rock and will only go for the High OG’s. I don’t really have a preference between high or mid, although I am not sure how I feel about the lows.
Some Jordan I History
The Jordan 1 silhouette was designed and originally released in 1985, the popularity of the shoe increased post Michael Jordan’s retirement from basketball in 1994. Where have I been, what was I doing all these years that I let these classic sneakers fly over my head!? It’s ok, because we found each other, and are now inseparable!
Jordan 1 Retro High OG Royal Toe
I started my collection last year and I have 5 pairs of Jordan 1’s, I will do a post on the collection later. Today’s post features the Jordan 1 Retro High OG Royal Toe. This classic was released on May 9th and sold out within minutes. I was an unfortunate soul who didn’t manage to snag the shoe on release day. But I am fortunate to have great friends, I received a package last week and boom there they were (if you’re reading this friend, you’re the real mvp). This colorway is inspired by the original Jordan 1 Royal colorway (released in 1985). I’ll spare you with the details, send me a message if you’d like me to write a post geeking out on this shoe and it’s history.
I am here today to share with you 3 ways to style your Jordan 1 High OG Retro Royal Toe’s, really any Jordan 1’s as the silhouette is consistent regardless of the colorway. If you’re interest keep reading!
Look 1: I paired my Royal Toe’s with this super classic satin high collar blouse and distressed denim shorts. The blouse is sleeveless, so I opted for this long line cardigan because we don’t really have summer in Seattle. To accessorize, I opted for my classic polarized Ray Ban sunglasses. I loved this look and if we could go outside outside I’d wear this on a day exploring the city.

Look 2: I am a girly girl, I love wearing dresses! In this look I paired my Royal Toe’s with my favorite black bodycon midi dress I got from Marshalls (I’ll link something similar). I always feel super stylish and sexy in this dress and that didn’t change even paired with the sneakers. This is probably my favorite look of the three looks because again the dress is a classic and one of my faves. I accessorized with some necklaces from Vibe Szn and my prescription Ralph Lauren frames. I was a bit worried that my 5’2” frame would be cut too short with the combination of the midi and the high-top shoes, but the look is a classic that will be in consistent rotation.

Look 3: This look was a bit more, dare I say it, dressy. Again, I am a total dress girl! Listen, dresses make life easy! This super cute dress is from SheIn, it features a laser cut hem and is super flowy. I styled this with a denim jacket I got from target and a Nanette Lepore chain wallet. Accessorizing again with my Ray Ban sunglasses. I felt really cute and flirty in this outfit, I could see this as a day date look.

I had a lot of fun styling these looks. I am super inspired to style similar looks with the remainder of my growing Jordan 1 High (or mid) OG Retro collection. Stay Tuned…
